RUFF IN TROUBLE

Ruff in Trouble is a new platform game created by Janusz "Shanti77" Chabowski for Atari 8-bit computers, serving as a tribute to the classic Amiga game "Ruff 'n' Tumble," released in 1994 by Renegade Software. Players take on the role of Ruff, who must escape hostile territory by collecting magical orbs scattered across various levels. Collecting these orbs is essential to unlocking the exit that leads to the next stage.

The game stands out for its beautiful, colorful graphics and smooth animations. Ruff can perform various actions, such as shooting at angles, climbing ladders, jumping, and crouching. Enemies move dynamically, with impressive explosions and traps that add excitement and challenge to the gameplay.

Development of the game began in July 2023, using the engine from the game "Trax," which was adapted to create an engaging platforming adventure. "Ruff in Trouble" was submitted to the 22nd edition of the Atari Bit Byter User Club (ABBUC) contest in 2024, where it earned first place, receiving praise for its quality and modern approach to classic platform gameplay.

The game requires an Atari 8-bit computer with at least 128 KB of RAM. It is available for download and makes a standout addition to the Atari 8-bit game library, appealing to both retro gaming enthusiasts and new players looking for a challenge.
